Our keets are here! Our keets are here! I am so excited to be adding these guys to the farm!
Guienna fowl are excellent foragers and voracious hunters. We and another couple ordered 30 birds and split them between our two farms. We should have the two least buggy farms in the greater Rochester area! These guys (and gals) are adorable, the kids love them! Freddy even asked me to move his bed down to the garage so he could sleep next to the brooder. :)
Guienna fowl aren't the only interesting animals here. The sheep finally got sheared. We had a bit of trouble finding a shearer, but Dave got a lead on one last week and it worked out! The shearers name is Aaron Loux. He lives in Massachusetts but does a tour of New York in the spring, traveling from farm to farm shearing sheep. He has a website, if you are in need of a shearer, I would highly recommend him.
More importantly, we are growing children at Bubbaloo Farm too. The kids could not be happier to finally be living here at the farm! Freddy has been assigned the job of chicken assistant, and he is taking the job seriously. He has checked on the keets food and water multiple times today. He is also in charge of feeding Gus every night after dinner. Lucy is helping Dave feed the sheep everyday, and Henry gets to tag along for a bit of everything.
